چکیده

Connectivity and relatedness of Web resources are two concepts that define to what extent different parts are connected or related to one another. Measuring connectivity and relatedness between Web resources is a growing field of research, often the starting point of recommender systems. Although relatedness is liable to subjective interpretations, connectivity is not. Given the Semantic Web’s ability of linking Web resources, connectivity can be measured by exploiting the links between entities. Further, these connections can be exploited to uncover relationships between Web resources. In this paper, we apply and expand a relationship assessment methodology from social network theory to measure the connectivity between documents. The connectivity measures are used to identify connected and related Web resources. Our approach is able to expose relations that traditional text-based approaches fail to identify. We validate and assess our proposed approaches through an evaluation on a real world dataset, where results show that the proposed techniques outperform state of the art approaches. c © 2013 The Authors. Interlinking of Resources with Semantics

Semantic Web applications that are after utilising linkeddata datasets are often limited by the interlinking methodology available. Based on our experiences with building a linked-data dataset for humans and machines, we propose a new way of creating semantic links, labelled as User Contributed Interlinking. 1 Linking Open Data 101 Links are one of the key factors that made the Web of Documents...

Generating an Indoor space routing graph using semantic-geometric method

The development of indoor Location-Based Services faces various challenges that one of which is the method of generating indoor routing graph. Due to the weaknesses of purely geometric methods for generating indoor routing graphs, a semantic-geometric method is proposed to cover the existing gaps in combining the semantic and geometric methods in this study. The proposed method uses the CityGML...

Text Based Similarity Metrics and Deltas for Semantic Web Graphs

Recognizing that two Semantic Web documents or graphs are similar and characterizing their differences is useful in many tasks, including retrieval, updating, version control and knowledge base editing. We describe several text-based similarity metrics that characterize the relation between Semantic Web graphs and evaluate these metrics for three specific cases of similarity: similarity in clas...

From many records to one graph: heterogeneity conflicts in the linked data restructuring cycle

Introduction. During the last couple of years the library community has developed a number of comprehensive metadata standardization projects inspired by the idea of linked data, such as the BIBFRAME model. Linked data is a set of best practice principles of publishing and exposing data on the Web utilizing a graph based data model powered with semantics and cross-domain relationships. In the l...
